🔧 Technical Details & Innovation

🔬 Fraunhofer Institute Partnership

The renowned Fraunhofer Institute is currently finalizing the internal components of our first pilot plant in Pentacomo, Cyprus. The outer frame is already in place and commissioning is planned for late October/early November 2025.

Core Components of DESERTGREENER Technology:

  • 90% Energy Recycling: Our system continuously recycles 90% of the energy used in a closed loop. Only 10% additional energy input is required.
  • Modular Building System: "Like Lego blocks" - proven industrial components in new, highly efficient combination and reinforcement.
  • Dual Storage Solutions: Both water storage and electrical energy storage (accumulators) enable 24/7 operation regardless of sunshine duration.
  • Heliotropic Mirror Systems: Innovative mirror systems follow the sun's path and maximize energy absorption for seawater evaporation.
  • Mobile Units: Smaller, fully mobile devices developed for military use and disaster relief.

⚡ Energy Efficiency in Detail

Direct solar radiation is concentrated through our patented mirror system and used to evaporate seawater. The innovative recondensation process recovers a large portion of the energy used, creating an exceptionally efficient cycle.

📅 Timeline & Milestones

Q4 2025 (October/November)

🚀 Pilot Plant Pentacomo Operational

The first pilot plant in Pentacomo, Cyprus, begins operation. The Fraunhofer Institute completes the finalization of the internal components. "I am one hundred percent sure that the pilot plant will start operating in the fourth quarter."

2026

🏗️ Construction of First 10 Large Plants

Construction begins on the first ten large plants south of Paphos for the 1.5 billion euro real estate project by a German project group. These plants will supply a large residential complex with independent water supply.

Q4 2025 / Q1 2026

🏝️ Gran Canaria Expansion

First plant planned in Gran Canaria. "Whether that also works out with Q4, the first plant there. But I think, if not with Q4, then with Q1 of next year."

December 2025 / January 2026

📊 Company Valuation Completed

Independent evaluators create the final company valuation. Estimated duration: 60-90 days from mid-October. Expected valuation: 2-12 billion euros.

🚀 Financing & Projects

🏗️ Paphos Real Estate Project

€1.5 Bn

German project group finances major project south of Paphos with hotels, residential complexes and infrastructure. Requires ten DESERTGREENER towers for independent water supply.

📈 Company Valuation

€2-12 Bn

Valuation jump from originally 400 million euros (patent licensing only) to 2-12 billion euros through complete project implementation with own manufacturing and operation.

🎯 Pre-marketing Success

€12+ Bn

Martin Mayer already had immediate inquiries for 8,000 towers - a volume of at least 12 billion euros or more, demonstrating enormous market demand.

💡 Project Strategy

The focus is no longer just on patent licensing, but on the complete value chain: manufacturing, sales, installation and operation of the plants. This enables significantly higher margins and sustainable growth.

🌍 Global Market Potential

Global Water Scarcity Situation:

  • Global Water Consumption: 4,000-5,000 cubic kilometers annually for 8.4 billion people
  • Water Scarcity Threshold: Below 1,000-2,000 m³ per capita/year for basic supply
  • Industrial Countries: Up to 7,000 m³ per capita/year (incl. 5,000 m³ for industry/mining)
  • Population Growth: Towards 10 billion people by mid-century

📊 Market Potential in Numbers

Current Status: Existing seawater desalination produces only 13 cubic kilometers per year - that's only 2.6 per mille of global water consumption!

Global Market Volume: With 5,000 cubic kilometers annual consumption and OECD average tariff of $2, the market potential is 10,000 billion dollars. The upper limit is 130,000 billion dollars annually.

Land Enhancement: Additional potential of 200,000-400,000 billion dollars by converting desert land into usable agricultural areas.

🎯 Just 10% Market Share = $13,000 Billion

Even if DESERTGREENER captured only 10% of the global water market, this would correspond to an annual volume of $13,000 billion - an unprecedented business potential.

⚠️ Challenges & Solution Approaches

Series Production & Logistics:

  • Complexity: "Series production is a complex matter. You really need to know how to do it."
  • Solution Approach: Use of existing industrial components and proven supplier networks
  • Personnel Strategy: Recruitment from automotive industry - "a lady from Volkswagen's strategic planning" already hired

Weather Dependence:

  • Challenge: Dependence on direct sunlight, problems with cloud cover
  • Solution: Dual storage systems (water + electricity) for continuous 24/7 operation
  • Location Advantage: Functional even in Central Europe in winter with clear skies

🔄 Production Strategy

"We want to produce with a focus in Germany and Austria" - utilizing free capacity due to decline in automotive industry. Assembly takes place in target countries through local partners.

🎯 Future Plans & Expansion

Production Locations:

  • Germany & Austria: Main production utilizing free industrial capacity
  • Local Assembly: Final assembly in target countries through qualified partners
  • Supplier Network: Proven industrial components from established suppliers

Application Areas:

  • Large Real Estate: Independent water supply for residential and hotel complexes
  • Military Use: Cooperation with Austrian Armed Forces in preparation
  • Disaster Relief: Mobile units for crisis areas and humanitarian missions
  • Agriculture: Irrigation of desert areas and development of new cultivation areas

🌱 Sustainable Circular Approach

24/7 operation through intelligent combination of water storage and electrical energy storage. The system runs continuously even when the sun is not shining and optimally utilizes stored energy.

⭐ Special Highlights & Success Story

🔥 Paphos Water Crisis as Project Catalyst:

The seawater desalination plant of the city of Paphos went back into operation two weeks ago after a fire. In early summer, a large dam also broke, leading to "sheer panic" as the freshwater reserves would not be sufficient for the summer. This crisis highlighted the urgent need for decentralized, reliable water production plants.

👥 Company Size & Team

Core Team: Around 20 full-time employees
Total Network: About 100 people in business relationships
Expertise: Recruitment of specialists from automotive industry for series production

🏆 Water Volume Facts:

  • Global Consumption: 4,000-5,000 billion cubic meters annually
  • Desalination Share: Only 13 billion cubic meters (0.26% of demand)
  • Doubling Needed: Water supply must be at least doubled
  • Cubic Kilometer Conversion: 1 cubic kilometer = 1 billion cubic meters
